spring flooding

There are spots in my neck of the woods that flood every year.  Since the floods of 2007 everyone gets a little nervous every year as the rivers rise.  That year I went to eat with my family in a restaurant/bar on Saturday in Hokah, MN and the next day the Root River had washed it way.

Yesterday it rained ALL DAY, you could see people coming out of stores in La Crosse, WI (right on the banks of the Mississippi) with sandbags.  Everyone is taking a wait and see approach, with the memories of flooding a few years ago in the back of their minds.

The Root River in Hokah is suppose to crest over flood stage tomorrow.  This is how it looked last night on my way home from work.
